What Really Matters?

Good morning folks,
I woke up to terrible news out of Belgium this morning of senseless terrorist attacks that have taken the lives and injured many others innocent people that were just going about their daily lives. When I see these kinds of things happen around the world it shocks me how human beings can be so ruthless. I don't understand it and it makes me sad. However, it also makes me recognize and appreciate all the good things in my life >>my family, my friends, my dog and the fact that I wake up every day with the ability to do what I love for a living ! I live in a great city in a fantastic country and fortunately I am blessed with good health. These are the things that really matter and I am reminded of that every time I see tragedies like this occur and I thank the lord for blessing me with the life I have.

The scenario that we talked about over the weekend in this weeks videos played out a bit yesterday with GLD and Oil pulling back while Biotech had a nice little bounce. There was some rotation of money going on and there were some nice trade opportunities early in the trading day. Then the markets settled in and we chopped around for the remainder of the day.
Lets see if that trend continues.

After today's events Gold could find some strength since its considered a safety haven in times of turmoil. Oil and energy names could be mixed with weaker than expected earnings results out of PBR and chatter that Iran has agreed to meet with the other OPEC members to discuss freezing production in April. However, this morning Libya has decided not to attend.

The Fed chatter has started with two Fed members speaking yesterday suggesting rate hikes could be on the table in April or June which theoretically be good for the financials. So we could see a continuation of strength in that sector. However, we also have two more Fed members speaking today and what they say could be 180 degrees of what was said yesterday.

Keep an eye on volatility as well TVXI and UVXY could be in play today.
