Good morning Folks,
We are a quarter of the way through the new year already! We are looking at another earnings season kicking off with AA in just over a week and it shocks me how quickly time slips away. I suppose its because I am getting older that the pace of how quickly it slips away seems to grab my attention much more than in the past. You start to recognize how valuable time is. It makes me appreciate the time I have been blessed with and fuels my desire to make the most of the time I have left.
The markets gave us quite a wild ride in the first quarter and there is a lot to look forward too in the quarters to come. If earnings come in weak this quarter the fears of an earnings recession would begin to look more like reality.
Oil volatility, interest rate decisions, emerging market growth and tensions between nations around the globe, terrorist threats, cyber security, currency wars, and a presidential election year that frankly>> scares the hell out of me. There is no shortage of things I can worry about.
I can't control any of the outcomes that lie ahead all I can do is control how I deal with whatever outcome develops. My focus is on the here and now, making the best of every opportunity that presents itself and enjoying the things in life that matter most while I still have time.
We have had the same pattern of volatility and good price action off the open turning into a grind for the remainder of the day. I continue to pay close attention the the strength of the dollar and the price of oil.
