New Week= New Opportunities!

Good morning folks,

Looks like we have some mixed markets around the globe while our markets are flashing  some red premarket however its not anything substantial. We could see more choppy consolidating action today.

IN THE NEWS TODAY
U.S. stock futures were searching for direction in early trading this morning. Ahead of the open, the S&P 500 stood at a record, while the Dow was within 16 points of a new high. (CNBC)
The Fed should aim to boost inflation above its 2 percent target by keeping interest rates near zero until early next year, said dovish Chicago Fed President Charles Evans. (Reuters)

So far this year, actively managed U.S. stock mutual funds have outperformed the overall market and rivals who aim to clone the S&P 500's performance-though just barely. (WSJ)

Gas prices rose another 22 cents over the past three weeks to $2.82 per gallon, according to the latest Lundberg survey. However, they're still nearly a dollar lower than a year ago. (Reuters)

U.S. oil prices advanced this morning, following fighting in Iraq, but Iranian comments that OPEC was unlikely to cut output, as well as signs of strengthening U.S. production, capped gains. (Reuters)

Shiite militias have vowed to reverse a major loss by Iraqi troops and retake Ramadi from Islamic State extremists. Officials said about 500 people-both civilians and soldiers-were killed in fighting there. (AP)

A brawl-turned-shootout between rival biker gangs left nine bikers deadand 18 injured outside of a crowded sports bar in Waco, Texas. At least 100 people were taken in custody Sunday for questioning. (NBC News)

Amtrak service along the busy Northeast corridor resumed today, nearly a week after Tuesday night's deadly crash shut down all services between Philadelphia and New York. (USA Today)

Federal authorities said a computer security expert hacked into a plane's in-flight entertainment system, and made it briefly fly sideways by telling one of the engines to go into climb mode. (USA Today)

Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and other luxury brands sued Alibaba (BABA), accusing the Chinese e-commerce giant of easing the way for counterfeiters. Alibaba said it plans to fight the baseless complaint. (Reuters)

Google (GOOG) plans to launch buy buttons on search results in the coming week. Separately, Apple (AAPL) confirmed its purchase of startup Coherent Navigation. (WSJ & NY Times)

Consumer Reports said its testers were locked out of its 27-day-old, top-of-the-line Tesla Model S because the electric car's retractable door handles wouldn't work. (USA Today)

Used car website Beepi, a Silicon Valley startup, hopes to change the way people buy and sell preowned vehicles. But forget about that test drive. (CNBC)

Summer travel on U.S. airlines is expected to reach an all-time high this year on a strong U.S. economy, according to Washington-based trade group Airlines for America. (Reuters)

BY THE NUMBERS
The drop in Chinese property prices moderated in April, supporting growing optimism the housing downturn there may have turned a corner. China's property sector contributes about 15 percent to the country's economy.
The new week kicks off with a single U.S. economic report today: The National Association of Home Builders' sentiment index for May at 10 a.m. ET, which is expected to come in at 58, up two points from the April reading.

More than a third of employers around the world are experiencing difficulty filling job positions, according to a new report from global employment consultancy Manpower.

There are no major earnings reports out this morning, although the after-the-bell session does include the latest quarterly numbers from Agilent (A),Leapfrog (LF), Take-Two Interactive (TTWO), and Urban Outfitters (URBN).

Three years ago todayFacebook (FB) was marred by a disastrous IPO and a massive mobile problem. But the social network has certainly flipped the script since then, and the stock is up 110 percent.

STOCKS TO WATCH
Endo International (ENDP) will buy Par Pharmaceutical from private equity firm TPG for $8.05 billion in cash and stock, Par was taken private by TPG in 2012 for just under $2 billion.
The BHP Billiton (BHP) commodities spin-off known as South32 began trading in Sydney with a market value of $9 billion, which is more than 30 percent below the high end of forecasts.

ConocoPhillips (COP) expects to maintain current capital expenditure levels for another three years, after joining other oil majors in cutting capex earlier this year in the wake of declining oil prices.

Toyota (TM) and Honda (HMC) topped an annual study of automakers with the best supplier relations in the U.S., while GM (GM) and Fiat Chrysler(FCAU) tied for last.

Sysco (SYY) said the U.S. avian flu outbreak would reduce egg and chicken supplies for nine to 18 months. The company is the largest U.S. food distributor.

McDonald's (MCD) saw hedge fund investors take new positions, according to the latest round of 13-F filings. Jana PartnersCorvex Management, and Glenview Capital took new positions, while Highfields Capital raised its stake.


Apple got a little less love from hedge funds than McDonald's, withOmega Advisors and Coatue Management among the firms that reduced or sold their stakes in the company.
