The risk of a sovereign default in Greece has increased after the anti-austerity party won Sunday's snap elections, analysts say, noting concerns over the possibility of a Greek exit from the euro zone. (CNBC)

In early trading, U.S. stock futures and oil prices were lower, while the euro regained some ground from more than 11-year lows against the dollar. Despite Friday's decline, stocks were able to post their first weekly gain of the year. (CNBC)

Nobel economics prize winner Joseph Stiglitz told CNBC today that mistakes were made in the creation of the euro zone, but the monetary union should try to hold the single currency euro together.

Gas prices fell more than 13 cents in the past two weeks to $2.07 a gallon. That's the lowest level since late April 2009. But an influential analyst warns the months-long slide may be nearing an end. (Reuters)

BY THE NUMBERS
There are no major economic reports as the trading week opens, but Wall Street is already looking ahead to the two-day meeting of Federal Reserve policymakers. The latest policy statement is due out Wednesday afternoon, with no post-statement news conference this time around.
It's also the busiest week of earnings season, with today's after-the-bell earnings list including Dow component Microsoft (MSFT) and Texas Instruments (TXN).

A significant number of American companies plan to raise worker pay in the next three months, the latest National Association for Business Economics quarterly survey found, bolstering expectations of an acceleration in wage growth this year.

STOCKS TO WATCH
United Continental (UAL), Southwest (LUV), Delta Air Lines (DAL), and American Airlines (AAL) are in focus, as investors wait to see the full extent of how many flights are canceled due to the Northeast storm and the impact on earnings.
Generac Holdings (GNRC) could rise in Monday trading, as the maker of backup generators often does when major storms hit the Northeast.

MeadWestVaco (MWV) and Rock-Tenn (RKT) plan to combine in a deal creating a packaging giant with nearly $16 billion in annual sales. MeadWestVaco shareholders will receive stock in the new company, while Rock-Tenn holders will have a choice of stock or cash.

Cereal maker Post Holdings (POST) will acquire privately-held MOM Brands For $1.15 billion, the vast majority of that in cash.

Ocwen Financial (OCN) paid a $2.5 million penalty to settle a mortgage servicing case with the state of California. Separately, mortgage bond investors have taken the first legal step toward suing Ocwen, saying it failed to properly collect payments on $82 billion in mortgages.


Shire (SHPG) received FDA approval for a drug known as Natpara, designed to treat a condition known as hypoparathyroidism.
