Good morning folks,
Wild day yesterday and if you follow me on twitter it was almost freaky how well the market played out according to plan. For awhile it looked as though everything was going to zero. There was a sea of red on my screen and fear was definitely in control. Then around 10:30 my time I started seeing a subtle change in the markets and I sent out a tweet letting people know to be careful if they were short because snapbacks can be vicious. The swing in the markets was pretty swift and we wound up closing in the green. Its never that simple, nothing goes straight up and nothing goes straight down. It was beginning to look like the easiest trade> just go short and you will be rich.
NEWL looked like it was literally going to go to zero. It closed at .34 on Monday hit a low of .24 yesterday and a high of .47 closing at .41. I use that example to show how quickly things can turn and how powerful snap backs can be TWTR was another example for you high dollar players. If you look at the indexes you will see that they did exactly as expected from the charts that were in the video this weekend. The one that looked like it was going to blow right through the bottom of the channel and just keep going was the IWM but as you can see it violated it and the 200 day and then did an about face to close near its high on the day. The most impressive chart of the bunch is the SP-500 since it held its long term trend line and looks like it may bust back out of the short term channel to the upside today. It will be interesting to see how we close out the month of April. It's my sense that we may be in for a bit of a bounce but that certainly does not mean we are out of the woods. Yesterday started out great as WAVX had a decent pr which happens to be one of my long term hold positions. I have been following the company for a long time and if you have been following me you will know I have been buying it below the 1 dolla holla. I took a day trade in it as well yesterday so it was a double WHAMMY so to speak.
Today should be a fun day although it looks like we may get a gap up and those are usually challenging days to trade for me. Don't get greedy book profits when you have them and I am still be cautious about taking large swing positions. However holding a few lottos overnight may not be such a bad idea.
