Baby Steps

So yesterday was a mixed bag  I managed to squeeze out  a gain for the day from my trades in $YGE $RVLT and $HTCH which were all minor winners. However,  I took a small loss Post market in $CECO after a negative announcement from $COCO of an investigation by the SEC which is in the same sector and I felt $CECO may fall in sympathy. The gains were decent but I guess maybe I am just spoiled and I want bigger gains. Greed is a terrible thing and could get me in trouble especially in a market like this where it seems to be a chop fest. We appear to be heading for a lower open and the market certainly looks tired. The first step to dealing with a problem is first recognizing and admitting you have one. Greed is one of mine and believe me the list is very long, like the voices in my head , and my multiple personalities, but that is for another forum. LOL I kill me!!

In this market I can't afford to be greedy!! I need to take profits when they are there no matter how small I feel they may be limiting my exposure to swings and long term holds until we get a better feel of which direction this market is headed. If you are in a stock and it begins to turn against you or doesn't do what you think it should don't be afraid to walk away and book a small profit. You can always get back in if the if the situation corrects itself.
