I am already thinking about the weekend! I have friends coming into town and already have a hectic weekend planned.
The GDP report could set the tone for the markets today and I really don't expect the Yellen speech to have any impact at all. I fail to see how the forum she is attending would lead to any kind of definitive statement from her on the direction of the near term interest rates. I think the anticipation of the event and all the speculation will wind up being more eventful than the actual results.
Outside of a couple Biotech names (NERV & FLXN), yesterday was a fairly choppy day with some constructive consolidation taking place right where it should be happening. I mentioned in yesterdays blog that technically we are bumping up against some potential resistance on several indexes and sectors. A pause to refresh is healthy and I am expecting today to be another grind as most of the big boy investors are either leaving early or already in the Hampton's.
Oil broke over 50 dollars a barrel only to immediately retreat and it looks as though we are flashing red premarket. The Dollar stalled at resistance while gold and the miners may be looking for some stabilization. Palo Altos earnings disappointed and that could put some pressure in the cyber security sector.
If the markets are choppy once again today I may be cutting out early myself and get the weekend started early.
Next week could be a big week technically if we do not break through resistance with conviction it will be yet another failed attempt and a new lower high.
I plan to do my market wrap video after the close later today and I am also planning to do the live stocks to watch video on TICKER TV Sunday morning 8 AM Vegas time. If anything changes I will let you know.
Enjoy your long weekend! Be safe and HAVE FUN!!
