Markets and Fear!

Good morning folks,
We did a little bit of technical damage yesterday but nothing all that significant. If you watched this weeks video we tested some areas of support that were highlighted in the video and in some indexes and we crossed below our first area of support. It wasn't the ideal way to start the New Year but in no way do I see it as catastrophic.

I am already hearing all the fear mongers starting to come out of the woodwork on the financial networks.

Is there reason to be concerned?Absolutely!

There are a lot of headwinds occurring all around the globe. Tensions in the middle east, China growth or (lack of it), monetary policy and the race to the bottom in the devaluation of world currencies, terrorist groups, a bull market that is getting a bit long in the tooth, global warming, student loan debt bubble Etc.... There is no shortage of things to find if you really want to spend your time worrying or preparing for the end of days.

Don't get me wrong! I am fully aware of all the negative stuff going on around us.

I'm just not wired to worry about those things that I have no control over. I am not going to bury my head in the sand but I am also not going to panic and give into all the fear propaganda that can become overwhelming.

For as long as I have been on this planet there has always been something to be worried about. There has always been something to fear!

Everything it relative and there is always something positive that you can find to focus on even in the worst of situations. Something that can help you overcome the fear.

The ingenuity of the human race and its ability to adapt and survive regardless of conditions is quite remarkable. The advancements in technology and the biotech sectors are amazing.
I truly believe we have the ability to come up with new cures for deadly diseases, eliminate world hunger, develop new forms of alternative energy and someday establish world peace. I think we can do whatever we put our minds too. Nothing is impossible!

The markets will go through rough patches, we will see ups and downs but if you look at our history> its never been smart to bet against us over the long haul. Corrections are to be expected and with those corrections come opportunity.

Keep an eye on gold and miners, Solar's are also worth watching and watch volatility if the sell off intensifies.
