So yesterday the markets felt a bit tired as we came right up into resistance on several of the indexes. It was a fairly low volume, choppy market with very few stocks making big moves higher. Oil, materials and miners looked particularly weak after the run they had last week.
The IWM looks a bit extended and looks like it wants to take a pause while the IBB remains weak.
The numbers out of China overnight were weak and it looks like that could set the tone for this mornings open. We also have the government shutdown babble heating up as we head into what really matters >>>Earnings season! From the little bit of earnings we have gotten so far it doesn't appear as though its going to be a strong quarter. The other concern I have is the amount of layoffs that continue to be announced. Earnings and employment are the two biggest indicators I pay attention too. If we have weak earnings and people losing jobs you have a recipe for a recession.
No reason to panic lets see how the earnings season plays out at we get started with the financial institutions this week.
Stocks on my radar premarket
Bullish and may have a swing or lottos in play
Cautiously optimistic
Very Cautious may even present a short opportunity .
