Opportunity

Good morning folks,
Well we did it, we closed above the highs. So now what?

That is the million dollar question. Yesterday was a fantastic day for opportunities there were stocks popping left and right. I took several day trades and I also trimmed up more of my swing account as some of the stocks I have been sitting on were making new 52 week highs or seem to be coming up into resistance after having a nice run. I still hold some lottos in the names but I booked a good portion of my profit. I may not have caught the whole move in a stock with my full position but I have no problem with locking in gains when I feel as though the market is getting long in the tooth. The market rarely gives us any warning as to when the party will come to an end. Locking in gains and building cash while the party is still raging is a strategy that allows me to take advantage of opportunities when things turn and stocks that I want to own go on sale.

Solid day trades are everywhere, its almost too much to keep up with and there are many opportunities that get missed by me. Unfortunately there is just no way for me to get them all. What I won't do is chase an opportunity I have to be disciplined enough to recognize when I have missed the ideal entry, I need to wait for a new setup and if one does not present itself then I need to move on and look for another opportunity. If you follow me on Twitter or Stocktwits you will see that I am calling out all kinds of stocks and symbols. I am not in everyone of these names. I call them out for a variety of reasons.

Making a new high on day= HOD, Round number roll= DOLLA HOLLA, Volume pouring in and price rising = GETTIN JIGGY,  Press Release=PR, Bounce plays off of serious support BOSS, Stocks that just won't stop= Ba BEASTIN!

You get the idea

Some stocks I already own as swings, some are long term holds, some are day trades and some I have no position at all but they are on my radar. All of them hold some type of opportunity and that could be me selling into the strength, it could be me stalking it for a quick scalp or getting ready to take a swing position. My opportunity could be very different from yours and that is why its extremely difficult to follow others into their trades. You just don't know what opportunity they are taking advantage of. Have your own plan for every opportunity that comes your way and you will be much more relaxed, you will be more successful with your execution, protecting your capital and maximizing your gains.
