Good morning folks,
Yesterday was a good day for me, they weren't home runs but they were solid base hits. $OTIV and $ANAD were both good to me and they could also be potential continuation plays today.
The market had a nice little bounce yesterday and it will be interesting to see what we do today. It think its going to be a bit like riding one of those really fun, sometimes scary but always exciting roller coasters. As earnings season begins our focus should be on finding those stocks where the companies are reporting better than expected earnings and raising guidance.
When you come across one don't just blindly jump in it. Check out the chart, did the stock run before earnings? Is the news already priced in? Where would be the ideal place for you to enter? At what price is the risk reward ratio more in your favor?
Remember one good quarter is not that big of a deal and odds are its already priced into the stock. Stocks get a real boost when the company feels comfortable enough to raise guidance or they disclose some other circumstance that surprises. That is often where you get a "real" pop because it was an unanticipated event. Beware of fluff and recognize substance.
