For the remainder of the day I stalked stocks like $GMXR,$AFFY,$KWK, $OCLR,$GGS and $DYNT which I did not take because of the low volume. Actually the only one I did take was $AFFY when it had a big volume spike and lots of chatter on the Twitter and Stocktwits streams. I was only in the trade for about 10 or 15 minutes and took profits taking advantage of that spike. I was unable to get a good entry point on the others.
Then I got caught up watching $VHC get smashed because of a jury verdict in their lawsuit against $CSCO. I don't short stocks, so I wasn't watching because I wanted to short it. I was watching because @ the time that $VHC started to drop so did one of my long term swings $VRNG. That is actually how I found $VHC, I was looking for news in $VRNG and couldn't find any then I saw $VHC on the streams and thought to myself. "What the hell does that have to do with $VRNG???" The only answer to that question I can come up with is they are both patent companies so they are in the same sector. This just shows you how funny the market can be. A ruling from a jury in a trial of a totally different company takes down the stock of a company that will not be impacted in ANY feasible way by that event.
I will be watching tomorrow to see if this takes $VRNG down further and if it does I will be adding to my long swing position. The judge has not ruled on its case against $GOOG yet where the jury ruled in $VRNG favor and that is the only news event I care about. I like to buy shares of $VRNG @ 3.10 or below. I like the risk reward at those levels.
